Panasonic has released firmware updates for its full-frame Lumix S1H, S1R, S1 and S5 cameras, which gives all four cameras support for DJI&s "Active Track" of its RS2 and RSC2 gimbals and enables the S1 and S5 to record RAW externally using Atomos Monitor/Recorder Video Assist 12G HDR. The Panasonic S1H gets an update to firmware version 2.5, the S1R gets firmware version 1.9, the S1 gets version 2.1, and the S5 gets firmware 2.3. ;) Panasonic S5
Active Track support for DJI RS2 and RSC2 gimbals.Prerequisite for using DJI&s Active Track 3.0 feature is to update not only the camera&s firmware, but also that of the RS2/RSC2 gimbals to the  new firmware just released. In APS-C/S35, even C4K resolutions (4128x2176, 17:9) can be output at 24-60p, also in 12-bit. And for anamorphic projects, there&s also 3.5K recording with 3536 x 2656 sensors. Also in 12 bit with 24-60p.  Since the Panasonic S1, S1H and S5 use a very similar sensor, the results of our testing the S1H with the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR should be mostly transferable. Thus, the most relevant difference for Blackmagic RAW recording using Atomos& Video Assist 12G HDR monitor recorder is the much lower body prices of the S1 and S5. However, the S1 requires the one-time chargeable activation of this function via software key DMW-SFU2. In addition, it resolved an issue that there were cases where some image quality modes of the video setting produced a file that could not be recognized as a video file when the camera was moved quickly or when the subject was moving at high speed.
