Feiyutech has announced two successor models for its gimbal action cam FeiyuPocket, which follows in the footsteps of the DJI Osmo Pocket - the FeiyuPocket 2 and the FeiyuPocket 2S.
Both models feature a camera with 130° wide-angle lens, which is stabilized using the 3-axis gimbal integrated into the handle. The camera supports recording of maximum UltraHD 4K at 60fps with a bitrate of up to 120 Mbit/s in MOV and MP4 formats on microSD cards. Slow motion can be recorded in FullHD at 120fps.
Its operation is done either via a 1.3" touchscreen (with a resolution of 240x240 pixels) complete with buttons and joystick or via smartphone app, through which smart shooting modes are also available, such as a follow mode, slow-motion recording, panorama, beauty shot, face detection and more. For better audio recording, an external microphone can be connected to both models via potional adapter.
The biggest difference between the two new models is the ability to separate the FeiyuPocket 2S&s camera from its housing, including gimbal and display, and use it via cable like a regular action cam. The housing can also be used as a control monitor with its display as an alternative to a smartphone including app.
It also has an HDMI output and supports WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) photo capture. The camera head attaches to the gimbal using a magnetic mount, which also allows for easy attachment to other magnetic surfaces. However, the runtime of the FeiyuPocket 2S&s fixed battery is slightly shorter at 3 hours compared to the FeiyuPocket2&s 3.6 hours.
