New images of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro leaked - new zoom levels and more
[15:50 Wed,19.March 2025 by Thomas Richter]
Thanks to well-known DJI leakers, there are now a number of new insights about the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Thanks to an image comparison from Jasper Ellens, it is clear that it will be significantly larger than its predecessor, the Mavic 3 Pro. Rumors had already indicated that it would probably be around 100 grams heavier because it has a larger battery with a capacity of 6,654 mAh (instead of the previous 5,000 mAh) and can therefore stay in the air longer, namely a maximum of 52 minutes.

New Zoom Levels
On the new images from Mauro Tandoi, there are several screenshots (including on-screen information) of the Mavic 4 Pro in zoom mode. The middle telecamera seems to have the following optical zoom levels: 1x, 2.5x and 6x - a small change compared to the Mavic 3 Pro, which has 1x, 3x and 7x. There is also talk of a 24x digital zoom.

New Camera Design
The following image also clearly shows the difference in camera modules between the old and the new Mavic Pro: the new module is designed to be rounder and smoother than the 5-sided camera module of the predecessor. The gimbal, which is now much further forward, provides more freedom of movement vertically and thus enables the extended tilt range of +80° mentioned in rumors (i.e. viewing angle upwards), significantly more than the +35 degrees of the Mavic 3 Pro.

New 240W Battery Charging Station
According to the leaks, the new battery charging station for the Mavic 4 Pro should accommodate three flight batteries and support charging outputs of up to 240 watts. The significantly higher output than the previous model - which was only 100W - will probably be used to charge as many batteries as possible in a shorter time or several at the same time.
What else we already know about the Mavic 4 Pro
Here is a summary of the previous leaks: The Mavic 4 Pro will probably be offered by DJI in two versions again: a Pro version with 512 GB of internal SSD storage and a Pro Cine version, which can also record in the professional and space-consuming, because less compressed, ProRes 422 HQ and 4444XQ formats and therefore has 2 TB of SSD storage.
The other technical data is common to both models: Both models have a 24 mm 4/3" Dual Native ISO main camera with integrated electric ND filter, a 16 mm telecamera with 1/1.5" sensor and a camera with 50mm lens and 1/1.3" or 1/1.5" sensor. The 100-megapixel photo resolution mentioned earlier is probably achieved by combining several frames (i.e. via computational imaging).

New are also quieter propellers and a front-facing LiDAR for obstacle avoidance as well as a flight assistance live image of the downward-facing VIO camera, which can also be seen on the screenshots above, which, together with a map view via picture-in-picture mode, is now displayed simultaneously with the live image of the front camera for the first time.
The previously leaked technical data of the Mavic 4 Pro - Hasselblad main camera with 4/3" CMOS sensor with 28mm f/2-f/11 lens (same sensor size as Mavic 3 Pro, but with 100MP instead of 20MP and a brighter f/2 lens than the f/2.8 of the Mavic 3) - Video recording with 6K/60fps (the Mavic 3 Pro could only do 5.1K with 50fps) and 4K/120fps - 14 Stops Dynamic Range (Mavic 3 Pro 12 Stops) - Advanced Dual-Controller (allows the drone to be controlled by two users, e.g. for pilot and cameraman) - 512 GB (Pro version) or 2 TB SSD internal storage (Cine version) - RTK (Enterprise version only?) - visual positioning via Triple Eye - stepless electronic ND filter 4-64 - Dual Native ISO 400, 1600 (D-Log) - 52 minutes flight time thanks to 6,654 mAh / 95.3 Wh battery - 240W charger (instead of 100W previously) - New RC 2 remote control - Weight of 1045 grams (Mavic 3 Pro Cine: 963 g) - Range via O4+ of 40km (Mavic 3 Pro O3+ 15km) - optimized gimbal due to new design with -90° to +80° tilt range (Mavic 3 Pro: -90° to +35°)

Price and Release Date
After there were recently various rumors about the launch date, we now assume that the Mavic 4 Pro will probably be presented on April 25, 2025. The usual teaser from DJI should then appear online a week before. Presumably, the Mavic 4 Pro will be slightly more expensive than the previous model, and the basic model (i.e. the Mavic 4 Pro solo) will cost around 2,200 euros, which is around 100 euros more than the Mavic 3 Pro.
