Zacuto has reworked its Trigger Grips and offers updated Recoil Rigs. Among the new grips are new Wooden Hand Grips which are an alternative to the previous ball bearing Swivel-Grips in the Recoil-Rigs. Zacuto points out in this context that the simpler new Wooden hand grips have significantly higher holding forces due to their design. In addition, the new handles can be released and locked with a click on the lever and thus also operated with one hand. A summary of the new features of Zacuto's Recoil rig handle components can also be found here in this video clip:
We are big fans of rig components with one-hand operation. Shape has been on the road here for some time with its robust push-button components and Wooden Camera now also relies on push-button rosettes.
Wooden Camera currently also has new rig components under the title TOP HANDLES v2
introduced. These include a sliding version on a NATO rail and a fixed top-handle version. Here also the accompanying promotion video:
We find it remarkable that Shape and Wooden Camera are the only two large accessory manufacturers (apart from ARRI patent holders) that equip their rig components with corresponding holes for anti-twist protection (locking pins).
