Fuji presents two new cameras at its X Summit Prime 2021 as well as several lenses, both for its medium format series and for XF / APS-C. However, the GFX50S II for 3,999 euros, which has been expanded by an IBIS, among other things, only offers video recording in Full HD like the previous model and is thus not a very exciting new addition to the Fujifilm lineup for filmmakers.
At least the more video-savvy models of the GFX series should also support external recording in Blackmagic RAW with a firmware update in October - so far this is only possible in Apple ProRes RAW. Also to appear for the medium format cameras
an XLR adapter, in collaboration with Tascam as recently announced.

The FUJIFILM X-T30 II, on the other hand, films - again like the previous model - in DCI 4K/30p after all, optionally with F-Log, on memory card at 8-bit 4:2:0 or externally at 10-bit 4:2:2 via the HDMI port. Clip length is limited to 30 min this time around. The mirrorless APS-C camera features the 26.1-megapixel XTrans CMOS 4 sensor of the X-T4 as well as the X-Processor 4. The 6K sensor resolution is read out completely (oversampling). Full HD slow motion at 240 frames per second is possible in high-speed mode. Autofocus is said to have been improved. The X-T30 II weighs 378 grams and is expected to cost 899 euros (available in October).

For the FUJIFILM GFX series of mirrorless system cameras, the new FUJINON GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR appears as a new compact zoom lens. It weighs just 390 grams and offers fast as well as quiet autofocus, with a focal length Kb-equivalent to 28-55mm.
The optical construction of the GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR includes eleven elements in nine groups. An aspherical lens and two ED lenses minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations and are said to provide high resolving power. The weather-sealed zoom lens will be released in late November at a price of 999 euros.
There is also a preview of upcoming lenses. The range is to be expanded to include the FUJINON GF55mmF1.7, the GF20-35mm and the first tilt-and-shift lens. Including the FUJINON GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR zoom lens introduced today, a total of 17 lenses will then be available for the GFX series.
Lenses for the X-series have also been announced, these will follow in a separate news item.
