For example, autofocus operability, especially when shooting in low-light environments, has been improved with optimizations to face and eye detection in scenes where face and eye detection was previously difficult when using an external flash. In addition, subject visibility has been increased when shooting live view through the viewfinder or monitor. In addition, the firmware updates deliver support for FTZ II mount adapters and NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S lenses to all models.

The Z6 and Z7 also receive additional enhancements with the updates, such as less flicker when shooting external N-Log or RAW video in low-light situations, improved eye detection performance for autofocus, and increased frame rate for displaying the focus point during face/eye detection and subject tracking.
