Nikon accelerates just before the IBC. After the long-awaited
Nkon N-Log LUT was released for free download and even
internal RAW video at Nikon cameras has just been hinted at Nikon is now following up with the development announcement of its next flagship DSLR - Nikon D6.
Our first reflex would of course be to ask for internal RAW video recording at the upcoming Nikon D6. And according to the motto: Only the best for the flagship product would perhaps be a possibility, but whether RAW video in a photo machine designed for sports photographers really makes sense, is on a different page (Here we would find internal 10 bit much more exciting and internal RAW then with a full format mirrorless Nikon).
But all this is speculation - as there are no other data about the upcoming Nikon D6 apart from the above fancy photo.
In line with the D6, Nikon has also announced the development of a new, fast zoom for professional photographers: Like the Nikon D6, the AF-S NIKKOR 120-300 mm 1:2.8E FL ED SR VR is primarily intended for sports photographers. Also here neither appearance nor technical data or prices are so far known.
However, they are known for the new fast wide-angle Nikkor Z 24 mm 1:1.8 S for the mirrorless full-format system (currently Nikon Z6 and Z7): From mid-October 2019 it will be available at a recommended retail price of 1,199.00 EUR.
The new Nikkor Z 24 mm 1:1.8 S offers a close-up distance of 0.25m, has water and dust protection and is said to have largely eliminated Focusbreathing - interesting also for video users.
Exciting times ...
