Already eagerly awaited by many Nikon users: Nikon has just released its official N-Log 3D LUT for free download for the log material of its mirrorless full frame cameras Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7. We had already gained some experience with the Nikon N-Log material of the Nikon Z6 at our ;)
We are very excited to try out the new Nikon N-Log 3D LUT. Nikon has already tested and approved his new 3D LUT in Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Final Cut Pro X and DaVinci Resolve.  Here again our Nikon Z6 vs Canon EOS R video where we had color corrected the Nikon N-Log material by hand in DaVinci Resolve: The only thing missing is the ProRes RAW update which also has some news. So for the implementation of the ProRes RAW functionality the respective Nikon will have to be brought to a Nikon service station and for this probably also costs will result: "Please note that the activation of the RAW video output requires the adjustment of an internal camera setting by a local Nikon service station. This service is subject to local charges." When the ProRes RAW update will be available is currently not clear. Until then the time can probably be bridged with the N-Log 3D LUT. One should keep in mind that the 10 Bit Nikon N-Log material (at least so far) is only available externally and an external recorder like Atomos Ninja V o.a. has to be used.
