OWC has announced the Envoy Pro Elektron, a fast and robust mini-SSD. The new mobile SSD is about half the size of a traditional 2.5" drive and gets its power from the USB-C connection. It is both shockproof, waterproof and dustproof according to the IP67 standard and reaches a reading speed of up to 1,011 MB/s. ![]() OWC Envoy Pro Elektron in size comparison with a pair of Airpods
The OWC Envoy Pro Elektron is made of aircraft grade aluminum and has an LED to indicate drive status. The mini SSD with USB C-bus power supply operates silently and without a power supply. With the included USB-C cable and Type A adapter, it is plug-and-play compatible with Macs or PCs as well as with the iPad Pro and Chromebook tablets. The interface is a USB-C port that supports the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard and thus enables a maximum theoretical speed of 10 Gb/s (equivalent to 1,250 megabytes per second), which is almost exhausted with 1,011 MB/s. However, this speed is comparatively low compared to current external Thunderbolt 3 SSDs such as the G-Technology G-Drive mobile PRO SSD - which achieves up to 2,800 MB/s read performance. ![]() OWC Envoy Pro Elektron Weighing only 85g and measuring 1.2 x 7.6 x 5.2 cm, the OWC Envoy Pro Elektron will be available from mid-November in capacities of 240 GB, 480 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB at prices of (240 GB version), , and (2 TB). Inter will use a NVMe M.2 SSD in the 2242 form factor and M.2 interface. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: OWC Envoy Pro Elektron - Robuste mobile USB-C 3.2 Mini-SSD mit 1.011 MB/s |
