Shortly after the
MFT cine lenses, VenusOptics introduces another cine prime, this time for Super35. The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine offers an angle of view of 123° and is said to be the widest among the currently available rectilinear imaging S35 lenses. "Zero D" as always stands for "Zero Distortion" and refers to the rectilinear design. Chromatic aberrations are also said to be minimal.

Since the front lens does not bulge out, front filters can be attached (with 77mm diameter). The optical construction consists of 16 elements in 10 groups, including two ED as well as two aspherical lenses. The closest focusing distance is 25cm.
The de-clicked aperture consists of 7 blades. The lens rings are equipped with 0.8 mod gear rings. The lens weighs 610g and measures 81mm in diameter, 80.7mm in length.
