We had been keeping our fingers crossed for Martin McDonagh&s  "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri". We are all the more pleased that Frances McDormand was awarded Best Actress and Sam Rockwell as Best Supporting Actress in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" - highly deserved in our eyes. The Oscar for Best Actor was awarded to Gary Oldman for his Churchill performance in "The Darkest Hour". And what we are also pleased about: Roger Deakins has finally managed to receive his "Best Cinematography" Oscar for his outstanding camera work in BLADE RUNNER 2049 after 14 (!) Oscar nominations, the origin of which we here we had reported in more detail. And also worth mentioning: as the best documentary film, Netflix&s production "Icarus," which was subsequently acquired by Bryan Fogel and Dan Cogan (partly filmed on a Canon Vixia/Legria) and won an Oscar for the special effects at Bladerunner 2049 for, among others, Gerd Nefzer, a German was also able to breathe some Hollywood air.
