After Panasonic had already introduced the Lumix Tether for Streaming tool in June to provide webcam functionalities for its Lumix cameras, now an independent webcam tool follows. Lumix Tether is actually intended to remotely control cameras via USB from a computer and was also able to provide a clean live view without an interface - that was just a quick fix.

The Lumix webcam software on the other hand (still in beta) for Windows / Mac is a dedicated webcam solution - it allows you to use a suitable Lumix camera as a webcam for live streaming (such as OBS Studio) or video conferencing (including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams). The camera is connected to a computer via a USB connection and then delivers live video with an output resolution of 1280x960 or 1280x720, simply select it in the respective program as input.
