Panasonic Connect Europe announces two new 4K multifunctional cameras for the coming year. The AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 are based on LUMIX digital camera technology with a corresponding interchangeable lens bayonet (L or MFT mount). Both models are virtually identical in appearance and hardly differ in size (approx. 93 mm x 93 mm x 78-79 mm) and weight (585 and 545 grams respectively). ![]() Panasonic AW-UB50 and AW-UB10
Both offer 3G-SDI output, HDMI type A, LAN connection, TC IN/OUT, GENLOCK IN and USB type C input/output interfaces. The LAN connection is Power of Ethernet (PoE+) compatible. Video transmission, control and power supply can therefore be carried out via a single cable. The UB50 has a 6K full-frame sensor with 24 megapixels, but this can only be used for 4K formats. The UB10 uses an MFT (Micro 4/3) sensor with approx. 10 million effective sensors, which should correspond to a native 1:1 4K resolution. Both the UB50 and the UB10 use autofocus technology with real-time detection. The UB50 is said to be particularly suitable for cinematic video productions due to its large sensor and shallow depth of field with appropriate lenses. Both cameras have Dual Native ISO, with the UB50 specified in V-Log at 14+ and the UB10 in V-LogL- at 13 f-stops. Internal recording takes place on two SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slots in MP4 or MOV as H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and H.265/HEVC. More cinematic formats such as RAW or ProRes are not supported internally. ![]() Panasonic AW-UB50 and AW-UB10 In return, the cameras are said to be particularly suitable for networked broadcast and studio applications and support many current IP protocols, such as the Panasonic AW control protocol as well as the transmission protocols RTP, RTSP, RTMPS, SRT1 and NDI HX212. Once the UB50 and UB10 are connected to remote camera systems on the same network, they are fully compatible with Panasonic&s AK-HRP1010 control panel. Support for Panasonic&s AW-RP150GJ remote camera controller and live switchers is also planned for the future. Panasonic has not yet communicated prices and has stated the expected release date for both box cameras as the first quarter of 2025. If the cameras now look familiar, you are not mistaken. Externally, they look very similar to the models ![]() ![]() ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Panasonic AW-UB50 und AW-UB10 Box Kameras mit Vollformat- oder MFT-Sensor |
