Panasonic&s full-frame BS1H box camera has just received the Netflix "accolade", making it the eighth Panasonic camera to receive approval for Netflix productions. In addition to its high-quality 4K image, the BS1H is notable for its box form factor and comparatively comprehensive in/out interfaces (including SDI, genlock and timecode - all as BNC).
Netflix specifies 4K or 4K Cine in 10-bit 4:2:2 V-Log in the All-I codec with a data rate of 400 Mbit/s as the recording format for productions with the Panasonic BS1H.
Due to its high modularity, the Panasonic BS1H is suitable in very different setups: gimbal cam, shoulder/hand, drone, crash cam, mutlikamera shots and much more. With its light weight of only 585g, the Panasonic BS1H is especially suitable for mobile applications.
We had the Panasonic BS1H in our field test both on the DJI RS2 gimbal and in different cage setups and were quite taken with the handling, especially the fast gimbal mounting. The Panasonic BS1H is also on a high level in terms of image quality.
For Euro 3.499,- ithe BS1H t can be considered a bargain among Netflix-approved cameras.
