Quite unexpectedly, Panasonic is launching a new bridge camera on the market - actually a largely extinct product segment, but one in which there is apparently still potential to be discovered. The Lumix FZ82D is based (as the model name makes clear) on the FZ82 from 2017 and, like it, offers a 60x zoom factor with its KB-equivalent focal length range of 20-1200mm. Thanks to its ability to focus on subjects just 1cm away, the camera can also be used to take macro shots.

The FZ82D is also equipped with an 18MP 1/2.3" CMOS - the new edition appears to have a better EVF with 2,360K and 0.74x magnification as well as a higher-resolution 3" touch display with 1,840K pixels. The model now also has a (mandatory) USB-C port.
There is no change to the video function, which at 4Kp30 is no longer quite up to date. You can film in FullHD at 50p.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ82D is already listed by several dealers at a price of 479 euros, but it does not yet appear on the German manufacturer's website; internationally it is referred to as the FZ80D.
