Panasonic has introduced a video mixer plug-in for its new Media Production Suite, which uses AI to enable live keying without a green screen.
The software sets up the cameras and provides access to aperture, gain, shutter, white balance and ND filters, as well as the focus and motion control of a PTZ camera. ![]() The Panasonic Media Production Suite comes with an optional AI keyer The "Device View" function bundles the management of several PTZ cameras on one PC, including the camera&s network settings, status check and power supply. The Media Production Suite is available free of charge as a basic version and can be expanded with various paid plug-ins, which will be further developed in the future. The additional paid plug-ins include the popular Auto Tracking, which allows the camera to automatically track movements using face and body recognition. However, the Video Mixer plug-in sounds particularly interesting. This is intended to offer a practical alternative to the green screen by means of an AI-based AI keying function - and thus enable live keying without dedicated setups. ![]() The Panasonic Media Production Suite comes with optional AI keyer We already know from numerous video conferencing tools for webcams that this can work well in practice.
