Panasonic has announced firmware updates for its Lumix S1RII, S1II, and S1IIE full-frame mirrorless cameras, which will be available for free download tomorrow. The Panasonic S1RII receives a whole range of new functions with the new Firmware 1.2, such as the possibility of 8.1K/7.2K open gate recordings and RAW output via HDMI, support for recording in HEIF (4:2:0, 10 bit) format, and - via a separate upgrade key - ARRI LogC3. In addition, it now recognizes urban sports such as breakdancing and parkour in order to better capture dynamic movements, and now offers 17 aspect ratios with up to three frames simultaneously, as well as a focus stacking function for continuous depth of field.
