The road to the organic sensor is a long and rocky one. In 2013, Panasonic and Fujifilm announced they were working together to develop an organic sensor. Since then, we&ve reported ![]()
According to this, the organic sensor should have both global shutter and four times the dynamic range of conventional CMOS sensors. If Panasonic has really managed to get a grip on the two skin problems of the organic sensor (heat development and high power consumption), it would have a piece of technology with gamechanger potential up its sleeve. However, "should" and "would have" are difficult formulations when it comes to the realization in a finished product.
