Panasonic has released the new version 1.6 of the free Lumix Lab App (iOS and Android) for its mirrorless system cameras. The app, which allows photos and videos to be transferred from the camera to the smartphone via WLAN, edited there and then shared on the network, has now received some additional functions. ![]()
The new functions of Lumix Lab Version 1.6Transfer LUTs in a package The most interesting new function for filmmakers is the ability to select several of your own LUTs or those downloaded from the Creator Library on your smartphone and send them to the camera as a package. There, they can then be applied to photos and videos during recording with the "REAL-TIME LUT" mode. ![]() L Frame function Users can now add a frame to their images directly in the app - either from the templates or a custom design. In addition, EXIF data and e.g. the LUMIX logo can be integrated. ![]() L Tilt correction The tilt correction has been integrated into the existing crop function. This makes it even easier to adjust the image alignment. ![]() L EXIF display The Lumix Lab App now displays complete EXIF and metadata for photos and videos - including recording date, camera and lens model, settings (ISO, exposure compensation, aperture, shutter speed, focal length) as well as used LUTs or photo styles. ![]() L The functions of the Lumix App LabTransfer photos and videos With the help of the app, photos and videos can easily be transferred from the camera to the smartphone - also via fast 5 GHz WLAN. If the automatic image transfer function is activated, photos and videos (the latter only in the space-saving MP4 Lite format) can be automatically transferred to the smartphone each time a recording is made. Post-processing & LUT creation With the Lumix Lab App, images and videos in JPEG and HEIF formats can be easily post-processed on the smartphone, for example by fine-tuning the color gradation, cropping or creating your own styles. After editing, the color tone setting can be saved as a LUT and applied directly to other images and videos. Download & transfer LUTs LUTs from Panasonic&s Content Creators can be downloaded in the app. LUTs can also be transferred to LUMIX cameras - now also in a package. Once the LUTs are on the camera, they can be applied to photos and videos during recording with the "REAL-TIME LUT" mode. Share on social media The photos and videos that have been edited in the LUMIX Lab App can be shared directly on social media. Smartphone as remote shutter release With the help of the app, the smartphone can also be used as a shutter release to remotely control recordings via Bluetooth. Recording via remote control The camera can also be operated remotely via WLAN while the live image is visible on the smartphone screen. Basic settings such as exposure and white balance, focus and shutter release can also be controlled. Firmware update Panasonic&s information on the possibility of updating the firmware of the Lumix camera via app is contradictory, as a footnote indicates that this is not possible (as of August 27, 2025). ![]() Cameras compatible with the Lumix AppThe Lumix Lab App currently supports models from two different camera systems from Panasonic: - Lumix S series (full-frame sensors): Lumix S1II, S1IIE, S1RII, S9, S5II and S5IIX - Lumix G series (Micro Four Thirds system): G9II and GH7 ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Panasonic Lumix Lab App 1.6 bringt LUT-Pakete, EXIF-Anzeige & mehr |
