The new RØDE TF-5 premium microphone is aimed more at the music industry than at videographers, but should also be of interest to sound designers. According to the manufacturer, the completely new capsule of the small diaphragm condenser microphone with cardioid characteristic is manufactured to tolerances below 1/1000th of a millimetre, which is intended to achieve an unprecedented consistency in terms of sound and frequency response. Among other things, it is intended to capture sound nuances particularly well as a spot microphone. The TF-5 is available as a matched stereo pair (RRP 1,499 Euro).
The TF-5 was designed in cooperation with Tony Faulkner, an award-winning sound engineer in the field of classical music, hence the model name "TF".
