A microphone or instrument such as a synthesizer or electric guitar can be connected to the Neutrik Combo jack, which combines an input for 3-pin XLR and 6.3mm jack plugs.
The digitized sounds are output to the computer via the USB-C port. The AI-1 is powered via the USB connection, so no external power supply is required. It also supplies 48 V phantom power to condenser microphones such as the NT1.

In the video area, the AI-1 can be used for audio or interview recordings via notebook or voice-over recordings in post-production, for example. The AI-1 allows latency-free playback via direct monitoring. With the built-in (adjustable) headphone output or 2 x 1/4" outputs, the sound can be output to monitor on headphones or speakers.

The 560g AI-1 audio interface, together with RØDE's NT1 large diaphragm condenser microphone, the SMR Shock Mount Premium Spider with Rycote Lyre suspension system and detachable pop guard, as well as a 6m XLR and USB C/A cable will soon be available as a studio kit for home recording setups. One by one it costs about 130 dollars, the studio set costs about 350 dollars - it will be released on the market soon. The audio program Ableton Live Lite is included for home recording.
