Starting in May, RØDE will also offer the USB-C version of the VideoMic (Me-C ) separately - the two other versions (Me and Me.-L) are already available separately. The compact, just under 8 cm long mono directional microphone can be connected directly to Android smartphones with its integrated USB-C connector.
The VideoMic Me-C's 1/2" condenser capsule delivers full frequency response (20 Hz to 20 kHz) and has a front-firing angle of about 90°. Preamplification and 24-bit/48 kHz digital conversion are already performed in the VideoMic Me-C itself.
On the back of the VideoMic Me-C is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, depending on the app used, you can already listen in while recording. The VideoMic Me-C has a sturdy aluminum housing to make it less sensitive to interference, as well as a scratch-resistant ceramic coating.

System requirements for operation are a USB-C jack on the mobile device and Android 10 or later as the operating system. The RØDE VideoMic Me-C will be available in stores in early May for around 80 euros - it comes with a special clip and a combined foam/skin windscreen for outdoor recordings.
