The first RED V-Raptor XL models should be delivered in August - just in time for the release, more technical specifications are now available. However, the exact dimensions of the larger body (compared to the V-Raptor without XL) are still not available - it is supposed to weigh 3.62 kg.
RED V-Raptor XL
This camera version is designed for professional use and features an integrated, additional 24 V power supply, numerous I/O ports and remote options as well as mounting options for camera accessories. Instead of an RF mount as on the smaller V-Raptor, a PL mount is installed as standard, which can be changed to EF. The recording medium remains CFexpress Type B / CFast 2.0 (single slot). RED specifies the first integrated ND filter as electronic, it ranges from 2 to 7 stops and can be adjusted in 1/3, 1/2 or whole steps.
On the body, in addition to significantly larger fan inlets, there are dedicated controls for controlling the internal ND filter (ND/CLR and UP/DOWN), as well as two user-programmable side buttons, two rosettes, and a front-facing tally light (to indicate when the camera is "live" in appropriate setups).
The V-Raptor XL offers four SDI outputs (3x12G, 1x3G) as well as genlock and timecode, control and USB-C, 5-pin audio input, and a headphone output, among other features. The power connectors include
1 x LEMO 4-Pin (19.5 to 34 VDC) Input, 2 x D-Tap (12 VDC up to 3 A) Output 1 x LEMO 2-Pin (12 VDC at 3 A) Output 1 x LEMO 2-Pin (12 VDC at 1.5 A) Output 1 x LEMO 2-Pin (12 VDC at 1 A) Output 2 x Fischer 3-Pin (12 VDC up to 3 A) Output
The RED V-Raptor XL has the same full-frame 8K sensor as the V-Raptor and supports the same recording formats as far as we can see:

The RED V-Raptor XL costs 41,600 euros plus VAT. A ready-to-shoot Production Pack version is also offered, which includes accessories such as a monitor, batteries, memory card, etc. in addition to the camera for 52,650 euros (net).
According to RED, there will also be an 8K version of the V-Raptor with an S35 sensor in the foreseeable future, or two including an XL version. As always, more information is still scarce, but the price of these cameras should be lower.
