Eleven new transitions have been added to Red Giant's effects and plug-in collection Universe 2.2, including Carousel Transition (similar to enemies in old slide projector), Channel Surf (similar to tube TV), VHS Transition (like VHS material), Camera Shake Transition. In addition, the two plugins VHS and Retrograde have been reworked, the first with new VHS noise samples, text overlays and so on, the latter now deals better with the aspect ratio of the original footage.
Also new is the support of the Avid Media Composer, so that Universe 2.2 can now be used with a total of eight host programs (Adobe Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, Apple Final Cut Pro X, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, HitFilm, Magix Vegas Pro and Avid Media Composer from v. 8.9). Red Giant Universe with 76 transitions and effects is available for per year or per month. As is so often the case, there is an effect-heavy promotional film as a taste test:
