For now, only some official images are known, but no technical specifications; these (and the name) already suggest the capabilities of the new drone. DJI will likely achieve something similar to Insta360 with the Antigravity A1 by combining its drone technology with the 360° recording technology of the Osmo 360: a drone that records comprehensive 360° video via two sensors and transmits it live to an FPV goggle, which allows the pilot to look around freely in all directions during flight. Control is intuitive via the Motion Controller—both are already visible in the leaked images.

It is also visible how different the Avata 360 looks compared to the predecessor model and that DJI is pursuing a different concept for arranging the (fisheye) cameras to achieve the 360° view than Insta360 with the Antigravity A1: while the A1 relies on two forward-facing normal cameras plus one upward- and one downward-facing fisheye camera, DJI is content with the latter, as clearly seen in Igor Bogdanov&s comparison:

Only tests will reveal how well the live stitching—the real-time merging of the different camera images into a seamless all-around view for the pilot—functions. Interestingly, however, the module with the two cameras appears to be movable on one axis—it seems to be rotatable by 90°, as seen in the following photo, potentially converting the Avata 360 into a "normal" FPV drone with only one lens facing the direction of flight.
DJI Avata 360 in 1-Camera Mode
Here is the demo video of the Antigravity A1, which attempts to give an impression of the new freedom of vision provided by the 360° cameras. This is not limited to the flight itself but also applies to post-production: since a 360° video is recorded during the flight, a video with any desired framing can be exported later—meaning the flying becomes completely decoupled from the camera operation.
There is no information yet on the release date, but since the classic official promotional images already exist, it probably won&t be long. DJI might manage to bring the Avata 360 to market even before the Antigravity A1, which is not expected to be released until January 2026. After DJI already launched a direct attack on Insta360&s core business of 360° cameras with the Osmo 360, the Avata 360 is now a counter-attack on Insta&s attempt to compete with DJI in its core field. The speed at which DJI is releasing new products is currently astonishing—only a few weeks now separate product updates or new product introductions.
