Rode has released a new "PRO" version of its popular Wireless GO radio link, which has been equipped with exciting new features. Most notably, these include internal 32-bit float recording, timecode sync, a new gain assist function and headphone monitoring.
As before, the audio signals are transmitted in the 2.4 GHz range. We have not yet been able to find any figures for latency - Rode refers to its "Near-Zero Latency Codec" (the Wireless GO II was already specified with a quite good 6ms latency). Rode states the range of the new Wireless PRO as 260m under ideal conditions, 60m further than the previous GO II. ![]() With its internal 32-bit float recording function, the Wireless PRO now has a powerful backup function that provides a reserve recording not only in the event of signal interference but also in the event of clipping levels. For internal recording, 32 GB of memory are available, for which Rode promises 40 hours of recording time of 32 bit float WAV files. The start of the 32-bit float recording can now be started at the transmitters with a dedicated button. ![]() Another new feature is the time code generator now integrated into the Wireless PRO radio link. The receiver sends a time code signal to the camera and the audio signals coming from the transmitters are already provided with the time code - a function that makes a lot of sense in our eyes, especially with 32-bit float recording. ![]() The new GainAssist function is supposed to ensure that the audio signals going from the receiver to the camera are always optimally distorted - this is a kind of auto gain function. We are curious to see how well this works in practice. For those who prefer to set their gain manually, the Safe Track function, familiar from the Wireless GO II, offers the possibility of recording a second track in parallel, reduced by 12 db, which also provides additional protection against overloaded signals. ![]() A small but, in our opinion, quite important innovation is the 3.5 mm mini jacks that can now be screwed onto the transmitters. If you are using higher-quality lavaliers, you will appreciate the now tension-proof connection. Rode states that the Rode Wireless PRO System has a battery life of 7 hours. New to the Rode Wireless PRO is the new Smart Charge Case, which allows charging on the go with its internal battery. Price and availability Currently, we only have the dollar price of the new Rode Wireless PRO, which is . ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Rode Wireless Pro 2-Kanal-Funkstrecke mit 32 Bit Float Recording, Timecode-Sync u.a. vorgestellt |
