Audio specialist Rode has just introduced the successor to its compact VideoMicro microphone VideoMicro II. The new version features Rode&s Annular Line Tube Technology in an all-metal housing as known from the Rode VideoMic NTG and NTG5. The most important new feature might be the even stronger directivity: Unlike its predecessor, the new Rode VideoMicro II now features a supercardioid polar pattern.
At just 39g at 80cm, the VideoMicro II is also a bit lighter than its predecessor. Also completely redesigned is the HELIX™ isolation mount, specially designed by Rode for the VideoMicro II to provide optimal protection from shock and impact, and effectively minimize incidental noise from general handling. ![]() The new HELIX™ isolation mount also features cutouts for cable routing as well as a mount for the camera and a thread for attaching to a telescopic fishing rod and other accessories. ![]() Included with the new Rode VideoMicro II are a foam windscreen, the WS12 deluxe head windscreen, a 3.5 mm TRS to TRS flat ribbon cable (24 cm) for connection to the camera, and a RØDE SC7 (3.5 mm TRS to TRRS spiral adapter cable) for connection to smartphones. The VideoMicro II is available now. The MSRP is 92.00 euros (incl. 19% VAT).
