The 10-minute short film SKYWATCH is remarkable for several reasons: Firstly, the film was made in six years of welding work with a budget of around 53,000 US dollars, which was fetched via
Kickstarter. And secondly, Blender was mainly used for the effects in the film.
The fact that the result is all around professional is certainly due to the talent of the director
Colin Levy, who previously worked for Pixar.
You can certainly be divided about the content itself. However, the goal of this project can hardly be overlooked. Since so many questions remain unanswered after the 10 minutes, this film screams as a prequel for a financing for a full-length feature film. We would bet that the makers with this business card will soon be negotiating a complete feature film. Let's see if we can report in one or two years on a resolution in the cinema (or on Amazon/Netflix)...
