The American manufacturer Samson has introduced the new Q9U dynamic professional microphone with cardioid polar pattern for broadcast, podcast and live streaming, which outputs the recorded sound both analog and digital, thus eliminating the need for an A/D converter.

For the analog output it has an XLR output, for the digital output with a resolution of 24Bit/96 KHz a USB-C port. It also features a latency-free jack output for monitoring the recording via headphones. An internal damper is designed to minimize the influence of mechanical noise during recording, a humbucker coil is used to counteract hum and other background noise - further features are separate switches for a high-pass filter, a boost for more presence in the mids and a mute switch that mutes both outputs.
The microphone has an integrated two-layer popscreen/windscreen as well as a swivel mount that allows it to be mounted on a boom. The Samson Q9U is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2020 at a price of around .
