The freshly introduced Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE is the first zoom lens from the South Korean manufacturer. It appears for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras with full-frame sensors like the Alpha A7 III or A7R IV and also brings some features for videography. While there is no de-clicked aperture, there is linear MF control with torque that mimics that of a manual video lens, plus parfocal behavior when zooming (no focus retightening is said to be necessary) and "cinematic video AF." AF speed is said to be continuous during filming, reducing fluctuations for smooth shooting.

Also appearing for the zoom lens is a separately available Samyang Cine Kit, consisting of a focus ring gear, follow focus, and tripod mount (it appears these are accessories from SmallRig).
The Samyang AF 24-70mm F2.8 FE consists of 17 elements in 14 groups (ASP 2, HB 1, HR 3, ED 3) and weighs 1027g. It features a linear stepping motor (LSTM) to adjust focus quietly and accurately. The close focus distance is 0.35m. A lens ring is provided for manual operation, which can alternatively be used as an aperture ring via custom switch. The iris consists of 9 blades. The filter diameter measures 82mm.
The assignment of the custom switch can be changed with the Samyang Lens Station. Firmware updates can also be applied via it.
The lens is protected against light rain, snow and dust and should be available from the end of November for 899 euros.
