As an editor, you are often tied to the software environment of studios, broadcasters or agencies -- collaboration across program boundaries is usually cumbersome. A new plug-in will simplify workflows in October, giving Adobe Premiere Pro users seamless access to the Avid MediaCentral platform.
The MediaCentral panel will allow users to access assets or projects in a MediaCentral infrastructure directly from within Premiere, or to save their own projects on Avid Nexis. The tighter integration will enable Adobe editors to import Avid sequences complete with layer structure and effects.
The Nexidia-based phonetic search, which makes it easier to find original sound clips or dialogue passages in videoclips, is also integrated. In addition, multiplatform delivery and send-to-playback are supported so that Premiere Pro can be fully integrated into larger production workflows.
For more details on the new capabilities, Avid will host a webinar on Thursday, September 24. A registration required.
