Sennheiser Profile USB Microphone - easy to use for podcasts & co

Especially for streaming and podcast recording, Sennheiser has introduced a new USB microphone that is very easy to use. The microphone, christened Profile, simply needs to be connected to the computer or a tablet via USB-C before it is automatically recognized by the device and can be used immediately. It doesn't need an interface or software, nor does it need an additional tab to control the microphone settings. The control is done exclusively through the knobs located directly on the microphone.

The Profile USB microphone incorporates the Sennheiser KE 10 condenser capsule, whose cardioid characteristic provides the typical attenuation of that sound which does not come in from the speaker's side. This ensures that the voice is the focus - according to Sennheiser, it is also emphasized by a natural, warm sound. In addition to the capsule, however, the placement of the microphone is also important for this. It should be placed about 15 cm from the mouth or sound source to ensure both warmth and clarity.
Operating Features

The front panel of the Profile USB microphone features a soft-touch mute button, a gain control for microphone volume, a mix control for adjusting the balance between voice and device audio, and a volume control for headphone monitoring. Headphones can be connected via the 3.5mm jack on the back of the Profile USB Microphone.
Illuminated LED rings on the front panel provide information about the microphone's operating status. When the LED ring around the gain control is green, the microphone is ready for use. When the same ring glows yellow intermittently or continuously, the microphone is overdriven and the microphone volume must be reduced. When the microphone is muted, the LED rings around the mute button and gain control light up red.
Made of metal, the Profile USB microphone can be conveniently positioned and moved around in the table stand version. The 3/8" and 5/8" connectors on the bottom also allow it to work with table stands from other manufacturers. A special streaming version features a self-fixing 3-point articulated arm.
