Improved Touch Focus and New Camera ControlThe Atomos Shinobi II, a compact 1,500-nit monitor aimed at vloggers, creatives, and photographers, received touch focus functionality via a firmware update in October. This allows the Shinobi II monitor to be used like a camera&s touch display for AF positioning and activation. The new update 11.03.00 further optimizes this function and expands it to additional camera models. For supported cameras, setting a focus point in AF tracking mode is now possible. The following camera models now also support touch focus: Canon EOS R1, EOS R5 Mark II, and EOS R7; Nikon Z8; and Sony FX3 and FX30. In addition to the expanded touch focus support, the update also provides camera control for Fujifilm models (X-T5, X-T4, X-T3) and supports Fujifilm F-LOG2 Log/HDR conversions. Furthermore, bugs have been fixed, and the monitor&s reliability has been improved. Price and AvailabilityThe Atomos Shinobi II is available for purchase at around €370 (teltec.de/atomos-shinobi-ii.html?offid=1&affid=15). Firmware update 11.03.00 is available for download from the Atomos support website (www.atomos.com/product-support/?parent=shinobi).
