The first Sigma autofocus lenses for cine productions have already been a topic with us several times: www.slashcam.de/news/single/Sigma-28-45mm-T2-FF-und-28-105mm-T3-FF-in-Entwickl-19333.html. In the context of IBC, a launch date and a price for the Cine-Zoom 28-45mm T2 FF have now been announced: It should be available from the beginning of November for 2,999 euros. The 28-105mm T3 FF will follow next year; a specific date is still pending. ![]()
The autofocus lenses of the Cine-Line are based on the optical design of two Sigma ART lenses, each with a corresponding focal length range, but are ergonomically and mechanically designed for the needs of film productions. Thus, the aperture is de-clicked and the focus travel is limited with end stops. The three lens rings are equipped with 0.8M gears for the use of focus pulls etc. With a weight of 1.2 kg, the Cine-Zoom 28-45mm T2 FF is also about 250g heavier than the ART template. However, there is no difference in the light intensity, even if the information does not look the same at first glance: The 28-45mm ART zoom offers an F1.8, while the Cine version "only" has a T2. In fact, however, these are different methods of defining light transmission. While the f-stop values common in photography are theoretically calculated, T-stops (T as in Transmission) represent the actual, measured amount of light that passes through the lens. In principle, this value is always slightly higher (depending on the quality of the lens), but it is more meaningful in practice. It is usually found on cinema lenses and is also specified here by Sigma for the Cine Line. (If you would like to know more about the T-stop, see this older article about the differences between cine and photo lenses: www.slashcam.de/artikel/Wissen/Was-unterscheidet-Cine-Optiken-von-Foto-Objektiven--Hier---T---vs--f-Stop-.html) According to Sigma, the autofocus driven by a linear motor (HLA) should work almost silently and offer excellent tracking capabilities. The Sigma AF Cine Line zoom lenses are available for L- and Sony E-Mount. ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Sigma Cine-Zoom 28-45mm T2 FF demnächst für 2.999 Euro erhältlich |
