After the 14-24mm F2,8 DG DN | Art Sigma completes its object portfolio for sealed full format cameras with a powerful standard zoom 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art. Like the 14-224 zoom, the new Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is only available for L-Mount and Sony E-Mount. Leica, Panasonic and Sigma are members of the L-Mount Alliance.
According to Sigma, the new 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art F2.8 will offer the best optical performance in its class. This is mainly due to the use of a series of low-dispersion glass elements (six FLD and two SLD glass elements). Together with three aspherical lenses, this is intended to effectively minimize imaging errors (longitudinal color errors or sagittal coma).
The Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art Zoom offers a freely assignable AFL button, eye AF compatibility (at least in photo mode), a zoom lock mechanism to prevent unintentional extension of the lens barrel and, of course, an AF/MF switch.
The close-up range of the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is 18cm wide-angle and 38cm telephoto. The largest reproduction scale is thus 1:2.9 in the wide-angle range and 1:4.5 in the telephoto range. The aperture consists of 11 blades, the screw filter size is 82mm and the weight is class-compliant 835g ( L-Mount) or 830g ( E-Mount). In addition, the new 24-70 offers a dust- and splash-proof design.
We are especially curious about the autofocus support on various mirrorless cameras in video mode and also how strongly the Sigma performs in terms of focus breathing would certainly be of interest to video users ...
If you want to change your mount, Sigma also offers a chargeable change service for the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art.
Prices and availability will be added as soon as Sigma publishes them ...
