Sigma announced at CP+ that it will offer three fast fixed focal lengths that were previously available for the following five mounts: Sony E-mount, Canon EF-M mount, FUJIFILM X mount, Micro Four Thirds mount and L-mount will be offered for Nikon Z-mount in the future.
The upcoming APS-C Sigma Z-mount line-up thus includes the following lenses:
SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
SIGMA 30mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
SIGMA 56mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
According to Sigma, the control algorithm, including AF drive and communication speed optimization, was developed specifically for Z-mount interchangeable lenses. Accordingly, the lenses offer not only high-speed AF, but also AF-C (continuous AF) and in-camera aberration correction (depending on the supported camera). The ports all have a rubber seal and are accordingly suitable for use in different environments.
Whether there will also be full-frame lenses for Nikon's Z-mount from Sigma does not seem to be clear at the moment. To our knowledge, Sigma does not currently have a corresponding full-frame roadmap for Nikon Z-mount. We would welcome a full-frame commitment in any case, because more lens choice is actually always good ...
