From ultra-wide-angle to telephoto, the new Sigma 20-200mm F3.5-6.3 DG | Contemporary covers it all. The 10x zoom lens was specially developed for full-frame mirrorless cameras - according to Sigma, the focal length range is a unique selling point in this segment. Between 28mm and 85mm, the magnification factor is 1:2 (half macro).

Weighing 550 grams, the lens is relatively light with a diameter of 77.2mm. The length is 115.5mm in the wide-angle position. A zoom lock switch prevents the lens from accidentally extending.
As usual with Sigma, a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) should ensure fast and precise autofocus. The focus ring engages linearly or non-linearly as desired (focus-by-wire; L-Mount only).
The optical design comprises 18 elements in 14 groups, including four aspherical lenses, one FLD glass element and three SLD glass elements. In combination with an internal mechanism that precisely holds each zoom group, high performance is to be achieved over the entire zoom range despite the high zoom ratio. Aberrations should be largely corrected, and stray light and ghosting reduced to a minimum.
The Sigma 20-200mm F3.5-6.3 DG | Contemporary zoom lens is scheduled to be released in October for Sony E-Mount and L-Mount and will cost 899 euros.
