One can order the quite popular, low-budget Sirui anamorphic lenses against surcharge immediately also with RF-Mount, however not from Sirui itself, because the conversion accomplishes MTF services / UK. Since the Sirui lenses are not full format-capable, but only cover an APS-C / Super35 image circle, they are not suitable for all RF cameras, but fit perfectly for the new Canon C70 (here with us at
hands-on as well as
in practical test) as well as the RED Komodo, which both have a Super35 sensor installed.
Available are both anamorphic focal lengths, Sirui 35mm F/1.8 as well as 50mm F/1.8 -- they offer a 1.33 times compression factor, which results in an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 after equalization of the footage. The lenses are delivered ex works with an MTF mount. Adapters are available for Sony E, Canon EF-M and Nikon Z bayonet. For the mount conversion, MTF Services charges a surcharge of 150 pounds on the regular retail price.
A conversion to L-mount is also available, but in this case the lenses can only be used in corresponding crop modes on a Panasonic S1(H) or S5, for example.
We asked if there is a possibility to buy the modified lenses through a reseller in Germany - if you order in Great Britain, you will probably have to pay attention to some things at the beginning of 2021 at the latest due to the brexite.
