After the first anamorphic photo from Sirui was sold like hot cakes, a second anamorphic focal length is now in development. Just like the 50mm lens, the 35mm lens will have a 1.33x compression factor and offer a speed of F1.8. The 1.33x compression during shooting will result in an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 after the footage is equalized.
The lens is again calculated for APS-C and MFT sensors, but as it seems it is only delivered with an MFT mount. Adapters are available for Sony E, Canon EF-M and Nikon Z bayonet. The minimum focusing distance is 0.85m, the filter thread 67mm. The manual focus ring has a rotation angle of 191.2 degrees. For the focus and aperture ring there are retractable gear rims. The aperture has 10 blades. The optics will weigh about 700 grams.
On August 3rd the crowdfunding campaign will start on Indiegogo, where the lens can be pre-ordered for 599 dollars (as always a certain risk of failure cannot be excluded). The later sales price is supposed to be about 25% more expensive.
