Sirui expands its full-frame anamorphic lens lineup with two additional focal lengths - 35mm and 100mm T2.9 1.6x - as well as a 1.25x adapter that can be used to further increase the squeeze factor. The 1.6x squeeze factor of the optics results in an equalized aspect ratio of 2.8:1 (with 16:9 sensor) or 2.4:1.
The lens line offered for E-, L-, RF- and Z-mounts thus includes 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm, all with a T2.9 and uniformly placed focus/aperture rings.
The two new lenses are 117.7mm (35mm) and 164mm (100mm) long and weigh 929g and 1477g, respectively. the closest focusing distance is 0.9m and 0.93m.
SIRUI 1.25x Anamorphic Adapter.
The 1.25x adapter - also with a T2.9 - with its 82mm back thread fits seamlessly on Sirui anamorphics, but three step-down rings (67mm, 72mm, 77mm) and one step-up ring (92mm) are also available to grant compatibility with other lenses. Sirui specifies the closest focusing distance of the adapter as 0.8m, and it weighs 650g with a 46.5mm length.
As usual with anamorphic front adapters, focusing is done manually via a ring on the adapter, while the focus point of the lens is set to infinity. The correct vertical alignment can be easily adjusted after mounting....
