The Corona-related trend of launching new cameras in livestreams continues: Sony will unveil a new Alpha camera on YouTube tomorrow, January 26 at 16h (Central European Time). "The one never seen" is the motto, and Sony seems to have taken this to heart relatively consistently in the run-up as far as prototypes and test samples are concerned, because unlike usual, even the rumor sites don't seem to be able to see anything concrete in their crystal balls yet.
Since Sony also announces smaller cameras such as the RX series as part of the Alpha "universe", one cannot automatically assume that the new introduction is necessarily a larger system camera, such as the A7IV expected for this year. However, the phrase "the new Alpha" already suggests that it will at least be a model that has an Alpha in its name.
If you want, you can follow the whole thing live tomorrow, for example in the stream window embedded below.
