With the FR7, Sony introduced the first full-frame PTZ camera with E-mount interchangeable lens system in its cine line-up this fall. Since the Sony FX3 and FX6, equipped with a similar sensor, already have Netflix certification, it was only a matter of time before the FR7 also made it onto the highly regarded "Netflix Approved Cameras" list. ;)
As a best practice, Netflix defines the codec as XAVC-I in Cine-EI mode with the corresponding S-Gamut color space and Slog3. With a total of 14 "approved" cameras, Sony is 1 place behind RED, which currently has 15 cameras on the Netflix list - but is also represented with somewhat older models compared to Sony.
