Sony has launched the Future Filmmaker Awards, which are set to become new annual events. The Sony-sponsored awards will launch on December 13, 2022, and aim to showcase original voices from around the world with a fresh perspective on storytelling. There are three main categories for the competitiondeb and they are Filmmaker (with subcategories of Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Environmental Films), Student Filmmaker (with subcategories of Fiction, and Non-Fiction), and Future Format. The short film competition for filmmakers from all over the world offers a very special prize: in addition to prize money and film equipment from Sony for the winners, there will be a very special trip for both the winners and the candidates.
;) Thirty filmmakers will be flown to Los Angeles for the awards ceremony, which will take place on February 22, 2023, at the Cary Grant Theatre on the historic Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City, Los Angeles. Winners from six categories - including Environment and Future Format - will be announced that evening - selected by a panel of leading figures chaired by award-winning English theater, television and film director Justin Chadwick. Following the awards ceremony on February 23/24, 2023, all 30 winners and shortlisted entrants will participate in two days of workshops, screenings and panel discussions led by Sony Pictures executives and leading industry experts. The two-day program covers a wide range of topics, from pitching to legal issues, from working with talent agencies to using cutting-edge technologies such as animation and CGI. This opportunity supports filmmakers& career development by providing access and insight into the inner workings of Hollywood&s film industry. ;) Only one submission is allowed per person, and the film must have been shot in 2021 or 2022 and be in English or at least include English subtitles. Die WettbewerbskategorienFilmmaker Der Filmmaker-Wettbewerb hebt originelle Stimmen hervor, die eine neue Perspektive in das Storytelling einbringen. - Drei Kategorien: Spielfilme, Sachfilme und Umweltfilme. - Die Beiträge müssen zwischen 5 und 20 Minuten lang sein und können mit jedem beliebigen Gerät gedreht werden. - Auf der Auswahlliste stehen bis zu 15 Filmemacher (maximal fünf pro Kategorie). - Die Gewinner und die Shortlist erhalten alle eine Reise nach Los Angeles, um an der Preisverleihung und dem zweitägigen Workshop-Programm teilzunehmen. - Die drei Kategoriegewinner erhalten zusätzlich 5.000 Dollar und eine Sony FX9 Cinema Line Kamera (plus Objektiv). ;) Studentischer Filmemacher Der Wettbewerb Student Filmmaker belohnt die Talente, die die Branche bald prägen werden. - Zwei Kategorien: Spielfilme und Sachfilme. - Die Teilnehmer müssen einen Filmkurs an einer registrierten Einrichtung auf Diplom- oder Studienniveau weltweit belegen. - Die Beiträge müssen zwischen 5 und 20 Minuten lang sein und können mit jedem beliebigen Gerät gedreht werden. - Es werden bis zu 10 Beiträge in die engere Auswahl genommen (maximal fünf pro Kategorie), um sicherzustellen, dass die verschiedenen Kontinente vertreten sind und ein breites Spektrum an globalen Talenten vertreten ist. - Die Gewinner und die Shortlist erhalten eine Reise nach Los Angeles, um an der Preisverleihung und dem zweitägigen Workshop-Programm teilzunehmen. - Die beiden Kategoriegewinner und ihre Institutionen erhalten zusätzlich eine Reihe von Sony Digital Imaging Equipment. ;) Future Format Der Wettbewerb Future Format fordert Filmemacher heraus, jedes Jahr auf eine neue technische Aufgabe zu reagieren. Im Jahr 2023 sollen die Beiträge ausschließlich mit einem Smartphone gedreht werden. - Die Beiträge müssen zwischen 2 und 5 Minuten lang sein und können mit jedem Smartphone gedreht werden. - Eine Auswahlliste mit bis zu fünf Beiträgen wird ausgewählt. - Gewinner und Shortlist erhalten eine Reise nach Los Angeles, um an der Preisverleihung und dem zweitägigen Workshop-Programm teilzunehmen. - Der Gewinner der Kategorie erhält zusätzlich 2.500 Dollar und eine Reihe von Digital Imaging Equipment von Sony.
