It wasn&t that long ago that factory floors were built for motion capture systems that swallowed up staggering sums of money. Sony has now introduced a motion capture solution for the masses with its Mocopi system, which is said to cost the equivalent of just , consists of 6 pin-like body sensors and a smartphone app.
Currently, Mocopi is said to be intended primarily for the Asian market. In addition to use in the Metaverse, the Mocopi system is also said to be suitable for web-based fitness apps, as Sony illustrates in the accompanying video clip:
