With the new FE PZ 16-35 millimeter F4 G, Sony introduces a motorized full-frame wide-angle zoom that should be of particular interest to video-savvy Sony Alpha users. The new Sony FE 16-35 millimeter F4 G (SELP1635G) has an integrated zoom rocker as well as three rings with which zoom, focus and aperture can also be controlled manually. The focus ring&s response is linear by default. ;)
With a weight of 353g and dimensions of 88.1 x 80.5mm, the Sony FE 16-35 millimeter F4 G is a particularly light and compact zoom lens. Thanks to internal focusing and optional remote zoom, this should make it particularly suitable for mobile setups and gimbal operation. Also important for video operation: The aperture of the Sony FE 16-35 millimeter F4 G can be de-clicked via a switch. Furthermore, an iris lock button and a focus hold button are integrated. The latter can be assigned with various individual functions. The minimum focusing distance is 0.28-0.24m, the filter diameter is 72mm and the aperture consists of 7 blades. The Sony FE PZ 16-35 millimeter F4 G does not have image stabilization.
