Sony today introduces more mirrorless APS-C cameras in the Alpha series. Compared to the Alpha 6400, the new top model Alpha 6600 also features 5-axis in-body stabilisation, which is already available on the older Alpha 6500. Also new is a dedicated headphone connection (in addition to the microphone input) and real-time eye autofocus in video mode. Power is now supplied via a more powerful Z-battery (otherwise found in Sony full-frame cameras). This makes the 503g camera even heavier than the 6500. As with the 6400, S-Log 2 and 3 as well as HLG are included as HDR profiles. ![]() The rest of the interior as well as the film modes seem to remain largely the same as with the predecessors: Filming continues in 4K with max. 25p/30p, as usual with fullpixel readout at the 6K downscale to 4K. A 24.2MP APS-C sensor and the BIONZ X processor are installed.
The simpler Alpha 6100 without IBIS, image profiles or headphone output, which is less interesting for filmmakers, was also announced. The OLED viewfinder also only offers SVGA instead of XVGA resolution. Two new G lenses extend the range of APS-C zoom optics, the Sony E 16-55mm F2.8 G (corresponds to Kb-equivalent 24-82.5mm) and the Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS (corresponds to 105 -525mm). The Sony Alpha 6600 (ILCE-6600) will be released at the end of October for 1,599.00 Euro (Body-only) and in kit with SEL-18135 for 1,999.00 Euro. A little earlier, the Alpha 6100 comes onto the market for 899 Euro (case only). ![]() ![]() deutsche Version dieser Seite: Sony präsentiert Alpha 6600 mit IBIS für Filmer sowie Alpha 6100 |
