Sound Devices has introduced the Scorpio, a professional mobile 32-channel, 36-track, 16 mic/line preamplifier mixer recorder. It features 12 analog outputs, AES in/out and multiple headphone outputs, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.
The Scorpio can also record to the internal 256 GB SSD or to two SD cards whose data can be transferred to a PC via USB-C (USB 3.1 Gn1). The Sound Devices Scorpio is operated via the knobs and the bright colored IPS touchscreen as well as alternatively via Bluetooth via the SD-Remote app (only Android so far, but an iOS version is planned for the future) which offers a large level display as well as the possibility to edit metadata.

The routing can be freely configured, i.e. each input can be routed to any channel, bus or output. Functions like metering, 48V phantom power, analog limiter, routing, time code, mic pre gain, high pass filter, headphone presets, mid/side channel linking, delay and many more are included.
The Scorpion&s user interface and menu system allow access with just one or two keystrokes - many functions and features are accessible with just one hand. The Scorpio has a built-in dual L-Mount battery charger and can be powered by L-Mount batteries. It can also be powered via the built-in TA4 DC inputs using intelligent batteries, NP-1 batteries or in-line power supplies.
