Sound Devices has released a new app (iOS/Andoid) for wireless control of its portable professional mixer-recorders of the 8-series, which seems to be an improved version of the previous Sound Devices Wingman App. Using the SD-Remote app, the models
;) SD-Remote App on the Tablet The app allows access to all settings or status displays of the recorders, such as transport controls, editing metadata, controlling audio levels, selecting sound channels (solo/arm) or muting and operating the device via tablet. Depending on your choice, the audio levels including time code and free memory space (on SD card or SSD) or the metadata of a recording are displayed in large letters. ;) Sound Devices 8 Series Professional Mixer Recorder For each channel, the app displays large-format meters and time code for easy monitoring. It can also configure sound reports and send them directly to your email. To use the app together with one of the recorders you need a (free) firmware update to the latest version 3.2.1.
