According to several leaks and rumors (including thenewcamera.com/dji-osmo-action-6-insider-leak-points-to-november-19-launch/), DJI is expected to introduce the latest generation of its action camera, the Osmo Action, on November 19th. The new Osmo Action 6 model is rumored to bring several interesting improvements over the previous version, affecting image quality and other features such as a variable aperture.
The Osmo Action 6 sensor is said to be significantly larger at 1/1.1" compared to the Osmo 5 Action Pro (our review here: www.slashcam.de/artikel/Test/DJI-Osmo-Action-5-Pro-Sensortest--Dynamic-Range-und-Rolling-Shutter--alles-.html), which is only 1/1.3". The larger sensor area should translate into higher image quality, better performance in low-light conditions (better images with less noise), and a greater depth of field for more cinematic shots.

For the first time, the Osmo Action 6 is also expected to feature a variable aperture with a range of f/2.0 - f4.0 – making it even faster (more light-sensitive) than the Osmo Action 5 Pro with "only" an aperture of f/2.8. This also allows for variation in depth of field and a better response to potentially overly bright lighting situations.
The larger sensor also enables higher resolution: it should be capable of recording up to 8K at 30 fps in HDR via ProRes – the Osmo Action 5 Pro was limited to 4K (4:3): 3840×2880 at a maximum of 120fps. Other recording modes are expected to be 5.3K at 60fps, 4K at 120 fps, and 1080p at 240 fps. The housing remains waterproof up to 20 meters or up to 60 meters with a special underwater housing.
