Insta360 has released new features for its ;) Insta360 Winter 2026 Update
The Insta360 Studio Desktop Software update includes a redesigned interface along with numerous new editing features, and the new Underwater Mode for the Ace Pro 2 specifically improves the color and stabilization of dive footage. The new accessories include a Free Framing Selfie Stick, a new, very strong ND filter, and a new grip specifically for ultra-wide photo shots. InstaFrame Mode Version 2.0 for Insta360 X5The new  InstaFrame Mode Version 2.0 for the 360° action camera Insta360 X5 brings three new or improved features along with a newly designed interface: - The new tracking via "Follow View" is no longer limited to the person with the Invisible Selfie Stick but can follow any person in the frame. ;){kind=tracking} Smarter Tracking with Insta360 X5 - 4K/30fps Flat Videos with AdaptiveTone can now be output directly; optionally, the camera simultaneously records a 1080p/30fps Flat version for sharing on social networks and a 5.7K/30fps 360° video for later editing. - Virtual Control: The new Virtual Joystick allows live control of the framing, and the Virtual Gimbal can produce footage as if with a gimbal—optionally in Pitch Lock, Follow, or FPV mode. New AccessoriesInsta360 has also introduced new accessories for recording: - The Free Framing Selfie Stick, which can extend up to 33 cm, allows direct control of the Insta360 X5 action camera in InstaFrame 2.0, including framing/tracking/record buttons. The Vertical-Horizontal Mount allows format switching during operation, which is particularly useful for quickly switching between 9:16 and 16:9 recordings. ;) New Free Framing Selfie Stick - The X5 Photography Grip, specially developed for photo shooting, offers a mechanical shutter with haptic feedback and USB-C connection without pairing/charging, as well as QuickCapture for photos even when the camera is off. - The new X5 ND128 Filter is a particularly strong Neutral Density filter for extending shutter speed in very bright light conditions, such as snow or sun, for more natural motion blur and controlled highlights. - The new Everyday Crossbody Bag is large enough for Insta360 X action cameras with the 85 cm or 114 cm/Action Selfie Stick attached and features side access and water-repellent material. App Update: Templates and Metric OverlaysThe FlashCut App has received new templates for winter sports, which use AI-powered auto-editing to automatically cut clips for skiing/snowboarding footage. - The new Stats Dashboard offers aggregated motion data such as speed, distance, and altitude as clearer overlays, along with an adapted layout for better readability. ;) Diving Update for Underwater Footage Diving Update for the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and the X5The new Diving Update for the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 and the X5 specifically improves underwater footage. With the updated Underwater Mode for the Ace Pro 2, colors and stabilization are optimized specifically for underwater conditions, while the camera automatically corrects distortions caused by light refraction at the image edges. Activation is done with a single click—firmware version 1.2.11 is required. Furthermore, a new AI-powered color correction for underwater footage, AquaVision 3.0, is now available, compatible with both the Ace Pro 2 and the X5. After uploading the material to the Insta360 App or Insta360 Studio, the algorithm analyzes the footage and provides four different color profiles from which the appropriate combination of color temperature and saturation can be selected. This works for both classic flat footage and 360-degree videos. ;) Aquavision 3.0 Also new is the Diving Stats Dashboard, which, after linking with a Suunto account, synchronizes dive data such as depth, dive duration, and water temperature directly from the watch with the video and displays it as a graphical overlay. This feature is currently only available in the Insta360 App. All mentioned features are free and will be unlocked with the update to version 2.6.0 of the Insta360 App or version 5.7.0 of Insta360 Studio. ;) Insta360 Studio Update Insta360 Studio UpdateIn addition, Insta360 Studio, Insta360&s free desktop software, has received a major update that, in addition to a redesigned interface and a newly structured user interface, brings new features that were previously only possible through external workflows or other editing programs. This primarily includes the ability to combine multiple 360° clips on a shared timeline, freely cut, arrange, and edit them within a single project. Simultaneously, multiple projects can now be opened and edited concurrently, allowing users to switch between them at any time. For the first time, Insta360 Studio also offers creative tools such as background music, text elements, and pre-made transitions. Users can choose from an integrated music library or import their own audio files, insert text with animations and effects, and use transitions ranging from classic cuts to elaborate 360° effects like Tiny Planet or rotations. Keyframes can now also be set directly via right-click, edits are synchronized across projects, and a new Speed Editor allows precise speed adjustments—even for multiple clips simultaneously. Insta360 Studio is thus evolving from a pure reframing and export tool into a full-fledged editing solution for publication-ready videos.
